Christian Giannantonio, PsyD.

Registered Psychological Associate

Christian Giannantonio is a Registered Psychological Associate under the supervision of Dr. Martha Ruiz-Shank, Psy.D. (PSY28729), and a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University. He holds a Master's degree in Psychology and has extensive experience in behavioral health, including working with adolescents and young adults in residential treatment settings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support individuals navigating complex psychological and emotional challenges.

Christian believes that meaningful change begins with developing a deeper understanding of ourselves, including how our experiences, relationships, and learned patterns of thinking and behavior influence the way we navigate life. His approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration, while recognizing the importance of personal responsibility and a willingness to challenge beliefs and behaviors that may no longer serve us. Drawing from person-centered, narrative, and cognitive-behavioral principles, he strives to create an environment where clients feel understood while also being encouraged to develop greater self-awareness, healthier coping strategies, and confidence in their ability to make meaningful changes.

Christian has a particular interest in working with adolescents and young adults navigating identity development, self-esteem, emotional difficulties, relationships, and significant life transitions. His doctoral research explores how social media influences self-image and psychological functioning among young adult males. He views therapy as an opportunity not only to better understand the challenges we face, but also to recognize our capacity for growth and take intentional steps toward building lives that reflect our values and aspirations.
